Cyclones stop the bleeding; snap skid

AMES — Iowa State’s losing streak is now a thing of the past. The Cyclones held of a feisty Kansas State squad on Saturday afternoon via an 81-75 win and improved to 15-3 (3-3) along the way.

The top story coming out of this one was Matt Thomas snapping out of his freshman season funk. The rookie went 4-for-5 from 3-point range and talled 14 points on the day. Melvin Ejim led Iowa State with 20 points. Georges Niang had 18 as well.

Meanwhile, Kansas State dropped to 14-6 (4-3). Iowa State’s next game will be on Wednesday at Kansas in an 8 p.m. tip.

Of course, we will have complete coverage (including video, analysis, etc.) of today’s action at Hiton Coliseum later this afternoon and evening.
