Two 2013 basketball prospects out of Brooklyn South Shore, N.Y.Terrence Samuel andShamiek Sheppard, received scholarship offers from Iowa State head coach Fred Hoiberg on Wednesday.

Samuel is a 6-foot-3, 175-pound point guard. Sheppard is a 6-foot-4, 190-pound small forward.

The two prospects are not only high school and AAU teammates, but best friends. Additionally, they appear to be a package deal on the recruiting trail.

“We’re called the dynamic duo,” Samuel told CycloneFanatic.com. “We’re really looking into this because we want to go to college together.”

“We have been together all of our life,” said Sheppard. “We went to high school and thought that we’d have to break up in college. We’re excited about this.”

Right now, Iowa State is the only school that has offered both prospects.

“We’re going to visit there soon,” Samuel said.

Samuel added that an unofficial visit date has not been set.

Samuel also claimed an offer from Cincinnati. Temple and Villanova are recruiting him as well.

Sheppard echoed that Temple is showing interest in him.

“I’m really excited,” Sheppard said about Iowa State’s offer. “I have a lot of stuff to work on but they told me that they’d like to help with my game.”

Iowa State assistant coach Matt Abdelmassih is heading up the recruitment for both prospects.
