CHICAGO — Following Iowa State’s 84-71 Sweet 16 loss to Virginia on Friday night, second-team All-Big 12 junior point guard Monte Morris made his plans for the summer fairly clear.

He will likely “test the waters” for a possible entry to the NBA Draft but at the end of the day, that doesn’t really mean anything. Due to new NCAA rules, prospects can attend the NBA combine, receive feedback and still go back to college.

“With the rule, everybody on our team should,” Morris said. “I think coach will want me to go test it. You can come back if you want. Most likely I will go.”

Morris scored 10 points and had eight assists on Friday night. He ended his junior season averaging 13.8 points and 6.9 assists per contest.

“After the season I will look where I am standing, get some feedback and will test the waters” Morris said. “If it’s things that I can improve on and raise my stock, I wouldn’t have a problem coming back.”

According to the latest mock on DraftExpress.com,Morris is being selected as the 43rdoverall pick (late second round). If that turns out to be where he is actually projected, don’t be surprised if Morris returns for his senior year.
