The following is a press release courtesy of Iowa State athletics communications.

AMES, Iowa – Iowa State senior Georges Niang will participate in the Nike Basketball Academy at the Santa Monica Airport’s Barker Hangar in Los Angeles, California, June 26-29. The camp is open to the top 20 college and top 60.

Nike has shifted from three skills academies to one, with the academy allowing the best players in the country (both high school and college) to compete against the best competition while receiving guidance from Nike Basketball’s biggest stars; LeBron James, Kevin Durant, Kyrie Irving and Anthony Davis. Additional basketball legends will be on hand to serve as mentors and coaches for the week long session with the top high school and college players in the country.

Last summer, Niang attended the Nike Big Man Skills Academy and the LeBron James Skills Academy.

Niang is coming off a junior season in which he averaged a team-high 15.3 points and grabbed a career-best  5.4 rebounds en route to earning All-America Third-Team honors. He was one of 14 players nationally, including just four in power conference, to average 15 points, five rebounds and three assists.
