On Thursday at the NBA Draft Combine, Georges Niang did what he always does — he got buckets. Niang led his team in scoring during the five-on-five portion of the workouts with 20 points on 8-of-12 shooting with three rebounds and three assists.
His performance might have even opened a few eyes around the league — as represented by this tweet from the Ames Tribune’s Travis Hines — and he was listed as a top performer from day one by Draft Express.
Besides playing five-on-five, the forwards at the combine got their official measurements and participated in the speed and agility drills. Niang was tied for the second longest hands among the players in Chicago at 9.25 inches.
He was also measured at 6-foot-6.75-inches without shoes.
It would be hard to say that the Methuen, Mass., native showed out during the speed and agility drills, not that anyone would’ve expected him to. Niang had the fourth shortest standing vertical jump of the players tested on Thursday with 25 inches.
His 31 inch max vertical jump was also fourth lowest among the players tested.
