Sophomore Jordan Railey and freshman Tavon Sledge are no longer a part of the Iowa State basketball program.

The two former Cyclones were granted their scholarship releases on Friday according to a release.

“We certainly appreciate the work and effort Jordan and Tavon have given our program,” Iowa State head coach Fred Hoiberg said in the release. “It basically boiled down to playing time for both of them. I had great conversations with Jordan and Tavon after the season ended and we mutually agreed that their chances for increased playing time would be at another school. Jordan and Tavon are great kids and we will do everything we can to assist them finding the right fit.”

Railey, a 6-10 center from Beaverton, Ore., appeared in 13 games in 2011-12, averaging 0.5 points and 0.7 rebounds. A native of Spring Valley, N.Y., Sledge played in eight games, averaging 1.0 points.
