REPORT: Hallice Cooke suspended for K-State game

569a85aa67e8904405143MANHATTAN, Kan. — ISU’s seventh man, Hallice Cooke, has been suspended for today’s Kansas State game because of a violation of team rules, ISU Athletics spokesperson Matt Shoultz confirmed this morning to Cyclone Fanatic.

Travis Hines of the Ames Tribune was first to report the news of Cooke’s suspension, which further depletes an already thin ISU bench.

It likely means shooting guard JordanAshton will play his first Big 12 minutes today at the Bramlage Coliseum as the No. 17 Cyclones (12-4, 1-3) seek to end a two-game losing skid against the Wildcats (11-5, 1-3).

Cooke, an Oregon State transfer, has averaged 3.7 points, 1.3 rebounds and 1.3 assists this season. He played a season-low three minutes in the Big 12 season-opening loss at Oklahoma, but notched a conference season-high 18 minutes of court time in Tuesday’s overtime loss at Texas.
