Fred Hoiberg is a popular guy.
The New Orleans Pelicans franchise named Alvin Gentry its new head coach on Saturday but news also leaked that Iowa State’s head coach got an interview.
Sam Amick from USA Today reported that Hoiberg met with the Pelicans along with Vinny Del Negro and Jeff Van Gundy.
On Friday night, the Orlando Sentinel reported that Hoiberg also interviewed with the Orlando Magic.
Hoiberg, who reportedly has a five-year, $25 million offer coming his way from the Bulls, is expected to take the Chicago job early next week.
