The following is a press release courtesy of Iowa State athletics communications.

SPRINGFIELD, MASS. – Senior point guard Nikki Moody was selected to the Nancy Lieberman Award top-15, the Naismith Memorial Basketball Hall of Fame announced Monday. The Nancy Lieberman award recognizes the nation’s top point guard.

Moody is one of just two Big 12 student-athletes to be named to the watch list.

Moody is averaging a team-high 14.0 points and also ranks ninth in the nation with 6.8 assists per game. Moody is currently second in the nation with 710 career assists, and is just nine assists shy from breaking Iowa State’s school record of 719 set by Lyndsey Medders. She also ranks ninth in Big 12 history in career assists.

The Dallas, Texas native already holds the single-season school record with 238 assists during her sophomore campaign. With 176 assists so far this season, Moody is on pace to become the first player under head coach Bill Fennelly to lead the Cyclones in assists for four straight seasons.

Her 1,328 career points at Iowa State ranks 15th in school history. She also ranks seventh all-time with 332 career free throws made.

The list will be narrowed down five by mid-March. The winner of this award will be presented at the WBCA Award Show in Tampa, Florida at the Women’s Final Four.
