CF Experts Pick’Em, Week 9

It’s getting down to crunch time in our CycloneFanatic.com experts football pick’em. After eight weeks, KXNO Radio’s Ken Miller has a five-game lead on the field. The man has been unconscious all season long but last week belonged to former Cyclone quarterback Bret Meyer. Meyer was the only panelist to pick Iowa State’s upset over Nebraska. That anchored his 8-1 week!

Current Standings

KXNO’s Ken Miller, 42-19
ISU Football Alum Adam Carper, 37-24
ABC 5’s Eric Murphy, 35-26
WHO’s Steve Deace, 34-27
CycloneFanatic.com’s Chris Williams, 34-27
ISU Football Alum Bret Meyer, 34-27

Ken Miller’s Picks

Iowa State @ Texas A&M – Hope I’m wrong, Aggies.

Nebraska @ Baylor – Huskers won’t lose 3 straight.

Missouri @ Colorado – I think this one will be close, road team pulls it out, Mizzou.

Kansas @ Texas Tech – Can I take the over? TT in a shootout.

Kansas State @ Oklahoma – KState’s fall begins in Norman, Oklahoma big.

Texas @ Oklahoma State – Texas woke up last week, Hook’em Horns.

USC @ Oregon… Game of the week, IMO, lets take the Trojans.

South Carolina @ Tennessee – Vols are getting better, still not sold on the Ole Ball Coach’s team. Tennessee.

Mississippi @ Auburn – Ole Miss likes it better out of the Top 10, they can win on the road.

Adam Carper’s Picks

Iowa State @ Texas A&M – Iowa State wins two in a row @ College Station and clinches a bowl bid.

Nebraska @ Baylor – Baylor is down to their 3rd string QB which will allow the Huskers to get back on track.

Missouri @ Colorado – Missouri needs a win so only fitting Colorado is next on their schedule. Mizzou

Kansas @ Texas Tech – Kansas won’t absorb the 42 point beating they took last year in Lawrence but who knows with this unpredictable Tech team. Give me Tech @ home

Kansas State @ Oklahoma – Oklahoma should put this one away early. Sooners

Texas @ Oklahoma State – This game has produced some dandies in recent memory and don’t expect any different this year. I like the ‘Horns

USC @ Oregon – USC hasn’t won in the state of Oregon since 2005 and their defense has been struggling as of late…doesn’t matter I like USC

South Carolina @ Tennessee – Gamecocks prevail in a bit of an upset

Mississippi @ Auburn – If Kentucky can go into Auburn and pull out the W, you can bet Snead & Co. can as well.

Eric Murphy’s Picks

Iowa State @ Texas A&M – Suddenly a lot to play for. ISU 24 A & M 17

Nebraska @ Baylor – Nebraska will bounce back against the red headed step child of the Big 12 South.

Missouri @ Colorado – the North is still wide open and you don’t want to mess with the Buffs when they have something to play for.

Kansas @ Texas Tech – I just picked this one out of a hat. Tech.

Kansas State @ Oklahoma – K-States division title dreams begin to vanish this weekend in Norman.

Texas @ Oklahoma State – UT is 21-2 all-time vs. OSU. I’ll side with history on this one.

USC @ Oregon – How does an Oregon-Iowa Rose Bowl matchup sound? Ducks will win at home.

South Carolina @ Tennessee – If Tenn had a QB they would have beaten Florida and Alabama. As it is, I’ll take the Cocks in a low scoring affair.

Mississippi @ Auburn – Chizik and Tigers will have less wins than Rhoads and the Clones. Who saw that coming after a 5-0 start?

Steve Deace’s Picks

Iowa State @ Texas A&M – one of the toughest games in the nation to predict, I honestly have no idea so I’ll pick A&M by three because of the home field.

Nebraska @ Baylor – Road trip is what the Huskers need and they win 24-6.

Missouri @ Colorado – Dan Hawkins needs this one more, 23-20.

Kansas @ Texas Tech – Think the over is a good bet? Texas Tech scores last to win 48-44.

Kansas State @ Oklahoma – Sooners provide a reality check, 31-10.

Texas @ Oklahoma State – Cowboys finally get over the hump, 24-21.

USC @ Oregon – Ducks have played better football the past month and it shows in a 26-20 win.

South Carolina @ Tennessee – Vols needs this one more, 13-10.

Mississippi @ Auburn – Tigers need this one more, 21-20

Chris Williams’ Picks

Iowa State @ Texas A&M – Too many questions for the Cyclones. AROB has to be healthy for ISU to win this one. I think he’ll play, but is he 100 percent? Texas A&M 27, Iowa State 20

Nebraska @ Baylor – No way the Big Red lose this. Nebraska.

Missouri @ Colorado – Tough game to pick in my opinion. It’s hard to imagine Missouri losing four straight conference games. That’s what I’m predicting though. Give me the Buffs at home.

Kansas @ Texas Tech – This game could last five hours. Texas Tech 38, Kansas 31

Kansas State @ Oklahoma – ROUTE…Sooners big.

Texas @ Oklahoma State – I want the South to remain interesting. So give me the Cowboys at home.

USC @ Oregon – The bigger the game, the better USC plays. Trojans.

South Carolina @ Tennessee – They’ll be singing Rocky Top all night long in the Smokey Mountains.

Ole Miss @ Auburn – Give me the Rebels.

Bret Meyer’s Picks

Iowa State @ Texas A&M – My first two years under center we won the non-conference games, struggled early in Big 12 play, made a late run to became bowl eligible. The trend continues as Jessie and the rest of the defense put together another great game. ISU 20- A&M 17.

Nebraska @ Baylor – The Nebraska fan who sat next to me at the game Saturday recommended several times that the Huskers stop calling the "option draw" run play that "never works." Barney Cotton takes note and the "option draw" is scrapped from this weeks game plan. Nebraska wins on the road. (Had to explain to him after the game the difference between an option and a draw play)

Missouri @ Colorado – Missouri rebounds from last weeks beat down. Handles Colorado on the road.

Kansas @ Texas Tech – Texas Tech wins a shootout at home.

Kansas State @ Oklahoma – Oklahoma continues its domination of the Sunflower state.

Texas @ Oklahoma State – Hawk fans don’t get their wish. Texas wins on the road.

USC @ Oregon -USC wraps up another Rose Bowl victory with a win in Autzen Stadium.

South Carolina @ Tennessee – Defensive battle won by Gamecocks.

Mississippi @ Auburn – GENE CHIZIK- Ole Miss wins big on the road.–
