Iowa State announces changes to 2014 football schedule

The days of having a lame bye week placed in week two of the season are long gone. Well, for 2014 at least.

Iowa State issued a press release late Wednesday afternoon announcing a fairly significant change to its schedule for next season.

The Cyclones will now face Big 12 rival Kansas State on Sept. 6. That will be a home game in between the opener against North Dakota State and a road trip to Iowa on Sept. 13. Because of this, Iowa State’s home game with Toledo will now be a homecoming match-up on Oct. 11.

"Iowa State’s “off” weeks in 2014 will be on Sept. 20, Oct. 25 and Nov. 15, guaranteeing blocks of three, four and two games between “off” weeks," said the release.

The release stated that this move was made to cooperate with the Big 12’s television partners. A complete look at the 2014 schedule is listed below.
