Iowa State has added a junior college tight end to its 2013 recruiting class.

Emmanuel Bibbs, whose Rivals.com profile lists at 6-foot-3, 245-pounds, took an unofficial visit to Iowa State on Tuesday and did not hesitate to pull the trigger.

"I committed in a heartbeat," Bibbs told CycloneFanatic.com on Wednesday morning. "It was just a great experience for me. I just fell in love with it. It was pretty overwhelming."

Bibbs originally hails from Bogan High School in Illinois. Bibbs reportedly committed to the University of Iowa out of high school but ended up attending Western Arizona C.C. (According to CycloneReport.com’s Paul Clark, Bibbs spent one semester as a grayshirt at Iowa which means he wasn’t a full-time student). According to Scout.com, Bibbs claims offers from: Iowa State, Arkansas, Texas Tech, Memphis, San Diego State, Western Michigan and Northern Iowa.

"When Iowa State told me that they wanted to offer me, I got pretty excited because it is close to home," said Bibbs. "I always wanted to play football back at home. When they offered me that scholarship, I had to take advantage of it."

Bibbs said that along with his family living in Chicago that he has a girlfriend in Iowa City. Bibbs said that he was one of Western Arizona’s team captains in 2011.

"I am a player who will give you 100 percent every time that I step on the field," said Bibbs. "I just love playing football. I give it everything I have when I step on that grass. I think I’m a leader too."

As of now, the plan is for Bibbs to graduate from Western Arizona in December and attend Iowa State in the spring of 2013. Bibbs said that he plans to go work out in Las Vegas with a personal trainer before returning to Arizona for his sophomore season in July.
