Rhoads, Ayeni, pay Oklahoma RB an in-home visit

Tommy Mister committed to Indiana last weekend and is officially off of the board in regards to Iowa State’s 2014 recruiting class. That doesn’t mean that the Cyclones won’t add another running back to this group before National Signing Day though.

On Monday, Paul Rhoads and new running backs coach Louis Ayeni made an in-home visit to Lawton, Okla. prospect Michael Warren.

“Coach Rhoads came to my house today, him and Coach Ayeni,” Warren said. “It went pretty good.”

Warren, a 6-foot-1, 185-pound three-star prospect (according to Scout.com), currently holds offers from Iowa State, Southern Miss, Toledo, Wake Forest and Washington State. However, Oklahoma was showing strong interest at one point and Wisconsin is currently doing the same.

Ayeni, who Rhoads introduced as his new running backs coach on Jan. 6, was previously recruiting Warren at Toledo. Warren said that Ayeni called two days after taking the Iowa State job and offered him a scholarship.

“When he was at Toledo, I had a good relationship with him,” Warren said.

Warren said that he plans on officially visit Iowa State this weekend.

“I’m looking to meet all of the coaches,” Warren said. “I really want to meet the entire staff this weekend."
