AMES — Following Saturday’s 37-20 loss that sent the Cyclones to 1-4, Iowa State head football coach Paul Rhoads held his weekly press conference on Monday afternoon in preparation for Saturday’s 2:30 date with Toledo (Cyclones.tv).
As expected, Rhoads was asked about Jamie Pollard’s comments that he made to reporters in Stillwater.
On Jamie Pollard…
“I am privileged to have a boss that is that passionate about this athletic department and this university that he was willing to stand up and say the things that he did. I benefit from that as the leader of this program and certainly our coaching staff does as well. All of our student-athletes in the athletic department know what kind of man they have leading them and certainly the fans, boosters and alumni of this university are represented as well. I am appreciative of that.”
What was the 9-1 vote that Pollard mentioned all about?
“I’ll late Jamie comment on that if he chooses to through the proper channels.”
Do you share Pollard’s belief that things changed after that vote?
“I think I’ll choose not to comment.”
As of noon on Monday, the Big 12 Conference has yet to issue a statement towards Pollard.
