Spring game information from Iowa State

AMES, Iowa – Iowa State Athletics will offer a number of fan interaction opportunities at the 2016 Cyclone Gridiron Club Spring Game on Saturday, April 16 in Jack Trice Stadium. Kickoff is at 1 p.m. and admission is free.

You won’t want to miss out on your first chance to see Iowa State head coach Matt Campbell and the new-look Cyclones take the field for the first time. 

Campbell and the ISU Letterwinners Club are also excited to welcome back many Cyclone legends on the gridiron who will take part in the weekend activities. Scheduled to make their return to Ames are current and former NFL stars A.J. Klein, Seneca Wallace, Sage Rosenfels, J.J. Moses, Keith Sims, Dennis Gibson, Tom Randall and Matt Blair.

In addition to catching an early glimpse of the 2016 football team, the new football schedule posters will be available for fans to pick up at designated tables on the northeast concourse inside the stadium. The Iowa State ticket office will be open from Noon – 1 p.m.

Cy’s Locker Room will have a huge sale on Cyclone merchandise from 10 a.m. – 2 p.m. This will be located on the north side of the stadium in front of the Jacobson Building. 

Fans can enter Jack Trice Stadium through Gates 1 and 3 beginning at Noon. Seating is limited to the east side only.

Parking is available on a first come, first serve basis in all A, B, C, and D lots.

The Cyclone Gridiron Club Spring Game will also have an enhanced fan experience with the events below: 

Cyclone Experience: A free area for kids with inflatables, face painting will be open from Noon-2:30 p.m. on the Jacobson Plaza of the east concourse inside Jack Trice Stadium (just outside the Jack Trice Club).

Junior Cyclone Club Football Clinic: New this year will be a football clinic from 11 a.m.- Noon in the Steve and Debbie Bergstrom Indoor Football Complex. The clinic is free for Junior Cyclone Club members. You will need to register for this clinic. For more information about the Junior Cyclone Club., contact, Beth Handlos at [email protected]

Cyclone Gridiron Club Tailgate: The Cyclone Gridiron Club will host its annual tailgate for all Cyclone fans from 11 a.m.- 1 p.m., just north of the Jacobson Athletic Building. Cost is $10 for adults and $5 for students in high school or younger, and free to fans who sign up for Cyclone Gridiron Club (Pigskin level or higher) membership at the event. Price of admission will include a meal and beverages. The tailgate offers a great chance to meet former ISU players and head coach Matt Campbell, who will speak to the attendees at Noon. Cyclone Market: Held from 10 a.m. – 1 p.m. at Jack Trice Stadium’s north parking lots, fans can come hear live music, eat food and buy products made by students. The event will help student organizations fundraise for the upcoming year while promoting their missions at Cyclone Market.

Equipment Sale: The popular equipment sale is back! Purchase football jerseys and other Iowa State athletics equipment and apparel at the Steve and Debbie Bergstrom Indoor Football Complex. The sale will be held from 10:30 a.m.-1 p.m. Cyclone Club and Letterwinners Club members showing their 2015 membership card will receive early access to the sale beginning at 10 a.m. 

Sukup End Zone Club Tour: The atmosphere at Jack Trice Stadium was improved dramatically with the debut of the Sukup End Zone Club and the bowling in of the south side of the stadium in 2015. Fans can take a free tour of Jack Trice Stadium’s wonderful new addition from 10:30-11:30 a.m. Information to purchase season tickets in the Sukup End Zone Club, a two-level lounge which features 3,000 premium outdoor chair-back seats, will be available and staff will be there to assist you with any questions. Those wishing to attend the open house should arrive at Gate 3 prior to 10:30 a.m.
