To say he didn't out recruit us in respect to Walker and Stinnett, IMO isn't completely accurate.
We offered both of these players. They sure seemed like serious offers to me. Both decided to commit to Altman at Creighton.
Why? Now this answer (if one exists) could support the feeling we were not out recruited. It may have boiled down to playing time and little competition for a starting role. At
ISU, looked like both Walker and Stinnett would have to compete for playing time and maybe a starting spot. At Creighton, it didn't look to the the case.
However, if Altman had guys that were playing better than one or both of these two recruits, he'd put them on the bench as would any coach. And in Ames, if these two would've been playing the best - they would start.
To justify us not getting Stinnett by his recent troubles at school, I think is unfair. Does it look better now that we didn't get him? Yeah. But that doesn't change the fact that we recruited him pretty hard prior to him going elsewhere.
