Behind the basket gives you a different, yet nice, perspective and you'll also be closer to the action, possibly louder and more exciting. For best viewing of all the action, then go mid court balcony. Either way, I think your wife and child will enjoy their first game. Let us know what you decide and give us an after game follow up.
