Gmac's 1st summer camp and liked the situation. At the time he committed, the back court playing time for 08 was wide open. He made an outstanding impression, got an early offer, committed shortly afterwards. I'm not sure if
Gmac or anyone on his staff knew about him before they arrived at
ISU.
Creighton doesn't have that much of a following in NE outside of Omaha. Altman was also focused on a couple of 08 guard recruits from the metro area. Nebraska was going nowhere under Collier and Sadler barely knew his way around campus before Wes committed to
ISU. Six months later, there likely would have been a great deal more competition for Wes's services.
