UNI has never won the league title, they have won the conference tourney, the last time 2004 under Coach Mac....
I believe that is what makes Mac such a remarkble coach, in 6 years at UNI, the last 3 he went to 3 straight NCAA tourneys (2 at large berths).....with about 1/10 of the budget and resources that a Major Conference school like
ISU can now provide......
Before that he took bottom feeder D2 Wayne State, Nebraska, to 3 straight national tournament apperances, his reccord at Wayne his last year was so good, they hosted a NCAA regional tournament in Wayne (like a H.S. gym) they gave them the tournament as a independent D2 team, no conference, no conference tourney.......because they (NCAA) had no choice he had beaten all the conference champs in the region head to head.......
