WILDCARD PROCEDURES
The eight wildcard positions (fourth- and fi fth-place fi nishers in the Conference championship eligible for the NCAA
championship) shall be selected by an open vote of the coaches. The vote will take place during a mandatory meeting immediately following the consolation matches. The following criteria will be utilized in the prescribed order when selecting wildcards to the NCAA championship: �� Head-to-head competition against ranked wrestlers.
�� Current rankings. �� End-of-the-year performance. Other considerations include the following: �� Past performance at NCAA championship and/or competition within conference. �� Special situations (injuries, upset possibilities, etc.). �� Strength of weight class. �� Team championship possibilities.
