Re: Intermat Rankings 3/12 - Pre-NCAA

These rankings do mean something to seeding, but not everything. I think a key for Iowa State to hang with Iowa and Minny and Michigan, is to get as many #1-12 seeds as possible. Getting a top 12 seed will help our guys avoid being randomly drawn into the upper tier of wrestlers at each weight. Having seeds improves our chances of getting wrestlers deeper into the championship bracket and closer to AA. Gallick has improved his stock and should get a 9-12 seed. Sanderson jumped 6 spots in the ranking and should expect a 7-10 seed. Reader improved his ranking at a very tough weight.

But then again, rankings don't mean anything as soon as the match starts.
