The Hawkeyes' 19 defeats broke the school's previous high of 16, last reached in 2002. To make matters worse, Iowa's average attendance was just 10,761 for 18 home games. That's more than 1,000 less than the previous low at Carver-Hawkeye, which opened in 1983.

Damn. We had 19 losses when they had 16 in 2002 - their worst season. And we only drew 10,543 for 18 home games - all of them wins - in the 1999-2000 season. Damn us, our glass house, and that pile of stones intended for the pukeye nation.
