Yeah, from a typical fan's perspective, Ike's number one job at Iowa State is to perform on the basketball court. No doubt in my mind that he will do just that (this assertion and a buck will buy you a Snicker's bar . . . I think).
But from my personal fan's perspective -- and I'll bet I'm far from alone on this -- I'm just as tickled to have Ike because of the kind of kid that he appears to be. Fine student, fine citizen. Of course, from this distance, I'd say this about all four of our signees.
Our rookies appear to be fine people, and in my book that counts . . . for a lot. It helps, though (and many of us here believe it), that they are either pretty fine basketball players already or show the potential to become fine at some point in their college careers.
