Which in reality, the Regents have to sign off on almost every major move that is made at any of the state's publicly funded universities.
Until something other than the word of mouth comes out (media, etc...) that the Regents flaunted their power and forced the Iowa AD to bend and hire somebody to help with the issues, then I'll believe it.

Until then, it gets under my skin because giving credit to the Regents for anything positive that happens to the Iowa program takes away from anything that the coaches/AD may be trying to do to better their image. It makes it sound like they are completely incompetent, and need the "all mighty Regents" to come and in and save the day.

I'm sure they said something to the effect of "We're tired of the issues", but I can say with 99% certainty that any new additions to the staff were no the result of pressure from the Regents, but rather were caused by the coaches realizing there is a problem, and wanting to fix it.

It would be similar to me claiming that the Regents forced ISU to hire a new football coach, because they were tired of ISU receiving money for losing. It's not true, and is a slap in the face to the coaches, AD, and the school.

ISU Student - Iowa fan. Best of both worlds.
