Our other loss this year, Vette, had nothing to do with the school or coaching staff, just a kid feeling out of place. He and his father had nothing but the highest praise for ISU and the coaching staff. You certainly can't hold McDertmott to blame for the mass exodus when he was hired, can you?
I don't blame McDermott for the mass exodus, I have no reason to. It's not like all of the transfers under Alford were his fault either, but they happened nonetheless.
I consider CJ to be a Greg recruit - he chose to bring him into the program. He could have brought Westbrook into the program but chose not to. To me that says that he spent the time keeping CJ on board.
Here is our 2006 recruiting class -
CJ
Dodie
McIntosh
Taylor
Johnson
There is one guy left.
Here is our 2007 recruiting class:
Booz
Brackins
Brister
Garrett
Staiger
Vette
Two guys already gone, rumors of another.
So we've had two recruiting classes of scholarship guys that have already gotten here, totaling 11 kids.
SIX have left early. If that isn't a cause for concern for you, that's fine. It is for me.
