I was watching the movie "Blue Chips" on ESPN Classic today and I couldn't help but think how the movie relates (or could relate) to former
ISU coach Tim Floyd. For those who haven't seen the movie, its about a coach (originally from Louisiana) that coaches at a fictional college (Western University) in California. Anyway, the coach struggles for a season or two and needs to land a couple top recruits to save the program. Rather than go the clean route, he offers cars, money, etc. to the players in order to gain their committment. I'm not saying that Floyd did or would ever do this but the entire movie just made me think of Floyd and how he was able to land OJ Mayo last year. How much does that type of recruiting happen do you think????
