Let us not forget the dynamics of both fanbases though.
ISU fans - a smaller bunch, but those that are fans, have seen many hard times, and love the team.
Iowa fans - a larger group, who have some very hard core fans, but also some very ignorant bandwagoners who are probably USC fans now.
Both Iowa and
ISU have very solid core groups of fans - it's the outer edges of each - and Iowa has more of those outer edge fans - that whine and complain when their lofty expectations fall short.
