Re: Banach is in trouble!

I was headed to an Iowa State - Iowa football game back in those days. I was riding shotgun in a car full of Hawkeye fans, but I had my Cyclone gear on. The traffic was two lanes and stopped as we were right next to Finkbine on the way to Melrose. Our windows were down, when a really big guy in the car next to me saw my ISU sweatshirt and started talking to me and saying how great the ISU wrestling program was. We weren't moving and chatted a little waiting for the traffic to get going. I thought he was a pretty nice guy for a Hawkeye.

I didn't recognize him until my buddy told me that was Ed Banach. I knew the name, just not the face. Anyway, I believe he had recently won an Olympic medal if I'm not mistaken. Months later I discover that he joined the Iowa State staff, which explained why he was kinder to ISU than the typical Hawkeye.
