That's a very realistic appraisal of the situation, IMO. I don't think, if Iowa loses 5 Big 10 games in a row, that they are going to pull out Ws against Purdue and Minnesota (who just had a HUGE class full of quality Jucos, and will have had a year to gel, and would love to go out of the season on a winning note) though. I mean Iowa couldn't get it done against Western Freaking Michigan with a bowl game on the line. I think there's no doubt if he goes 6-6 or worse, that he's on the hot seat for sure next year. Fewer than 6 wins, and I think Iowa seriously looks at getting out of the contract. Will they do it? I find it unlikely, especially with a spineless AD at the helm, but it's certainly a possibility. Then the question would become, who are they going to get that's any better? And would ISU hire him as the o-line coach?
