Kansas State men’s basketball coach Frank Martin signed a five-year contract through the 2011-12 season that with total compensation pays him $760,000 annually, the school announced Wednesday.
In his rookie season as a head coach, Martin guided the Wildcats to their first NCAA Tournament since 1996. K-State finished 21-12 overall this year, including a third-place finish and 10-6 recrord in the Big 12.
The Wildcats advanced to the second round of the NCAA Tournament. They beat USC before losing to Wisconsin.
Martin’s base salary will be $180,000. He will receive the remainder of the compensation through TV, radio, Internet, shoe and apparels and other services.
