Having grown up in far NE Iowa, pretty much everyone I know/knew is an
EIU fan. I grew up a Wisconsin fan, so even as a kid, I annoyed the Iowa fans.
I, briefly, dated an Iowa fan a few years ago and was told that rooting for
EIU wasn't like having an "excorcism" and that it was actually quite "easy". I'm not quite sure I agree, but she was polite about the rivalry, so I nodded and smiled and lived to root for
ISU another day.
