This is actually a very true post.
Personally, there are no theories as to why either team wins. With the exception of 2002, the better team has won. That's not to say that by the end of the year the results wouldn't have been different, but most of the games have been pretty evenly matched, regardless of the teams' final records.
And I know
ISU fans go back to the 7/10 argument. That's great and everything. But I'd like to point out, when ever an Iowa fan uses the 19/26 argument, it's "irrelevant because that 15 game winning streak was against some of the worst teams in
ISU football history".
Just thought I'd mention, 3 of those 5 wins were against some of Iowa's worst teams in history, and came over half a decade ago. If you're going to call the 15 game streak irrelevant because of time and how bad the team was, so is that 5 game winning streak.
But, like I said, the teams have been pretty even in the past 6 years.
