DES MOINES, Iowa- Iowa State put up some impressive efforts, with several top-five performances, to close out the 99th-annual Drake Relays on Saturday at the Drake Stadium.
Freshman Hillary Bor highlighted Saturday’s events at the Drake Relays, capturing a fourth-place finish in the 1,500-meter run. Bor weathered a clustered field and paced himself to a time of 3:52.29. Drake Stadium was packed with a sell-out crowd of 14,000 in cool, but pleasant temperatures. Cyclone Dan Fadgen was fifth in 3:52.37.
“The last 400 meters, I was feeling good,” Bor said. “I told myself ‘I’m going to catch those two guys,’ but my legs were a little tired from yesterday’s 4x1600. This is my first time running in front of a big crowd. It’s really incredible with all the people yelling at you, I really like it.”
