That was my first thought when I read this story as well! And if I were UNI...I would give him a call! What would it hurt? Could be a feel-good story...kid learns his lesson. At worst it would be a waste of time...first time he screws up again you let him go.
I agree. Not to encourage him to run from his troubles, but at least get far enough away to get a fresh start.
