Ryan Perrilloux, LSU's former phenom recruit, has been booted from the team. We all know that Texas, when Coach Chizik was there, was his second choice. The article,
here, seems to suggest that Ryan will transfer to a lower division school so that he can play immediately.
What do you think, if he were interested, should we welcome in another SEC transfer? Yeah, I know the kid's had troubles, but his dad dies in February, and it seems to me really crappy to yank someone's scholarship right after they lose a parent.
Plus, in almost every case, when a troubled player transfers, the rest of their career passes without incident at their new school--not only because they know that they are out of chances, but because being dismissed forces them to grow up. In Perrilloux's case, I can't help but think that the loss of his father, once he works through the grief, will add a new-found maturity as well.
Give me a minute, and if I figure out how, I'll add a poll.
