There ya go.
Seriously...since when has getting in a fight, or skipping classes ever been grounds for dismissal? Whoa, an athlete sneaking into a nightclub...better make him run some stairs.
As far as "reports"....reports, rumors are
nothing. When there is evidence, when there is a trial, even better a conviction, then come talk to me.
Let's make an academic parallel--since that's what this is. An
ISU student gets bad grades one term, and goes on academic probation. Is that a second chance? No, it's the last stage of the
first chance. Now if they continue to get bad grades, then are academically dismissed, that's the end of the first chance. If they succeedingly apply for reinstatement a year later and get back into school,
that is a second chance.
As far as your earlier, employment example, I've worked with numbskulls who bent (or broke) the rules time and time again. It was only when they were finally fired, then (sometimes months later)
rehired (as I scratched my head) that they were on their second chance.
