ISU didn't have much competition for Ben Barkema or the Freres. Muscatine is most definitely a Hawkeye town.
As far as the QC area goes, Lichtenberg was an
ISU legacy. The MAC schools are pretty much a pipeline for the Hawks.

I feel like the MAC is turning and looking more at
ISU than years past. Maybe Lichtenberg can help matters, especially among the Bettendorf pipeline at U of I.
Current rosters of MAC players:
Iowa - Vandervelde, Angerer, Greenwood, Sandeman, King from Burlington which is a MAC school but far from the others. (Joe Conklin transfered from
ISU to Iowa and will show up on the 2008 roster)
ISU - Messiah, Frere, Frere, Brandtner (Tuftee will join after his greyshirt)
