ISU didn't have much competition for Ben Barkema or the Freres. Muscatine is most definitely a Hawkeye town.
As far as the QC area goes, Lichtenberg was an
ISU legacy. The MAC schools are pretty much a pipeline for the Hawks.
Ben was offered by Iowa late.
