I would say if Allegiant did that to the prices you should go with a flight + hotel combo from Expedia or Orbitz, they were like $550-$850/person depending on the hotel you stayed at (not counting Caesars or the Wynn). The Mirage, TI, and Paris had good deals under $600.
The prices on Orbitz and Expedia will be going up the more searches for those dates they get. There are limited flights from DM to Vegas, if they are selling this far in advance the price will go up. It's fully automated and depends on the number of searches, there is nobody looking up what may be going on and setting prices...
