Mid-Iowa Newspapers - Offseason work will be key to ISU's success in 2008-09
"Note: According to the Seattle Times, Washington freshman center Kali Bennett is transferring and is considering
ISU. Bennett's mom, Chris, also told the paper her daughter wants to transfer to Washington State, where former Washington coach June Daugherty is now an assistant coach. The 6-foot-5 Bennett, who is from Ventura, Calif., averaged 4.9 points and 3.0 rebounds in 30 games last season. Former
ISU assistant coach Katie Abrahamson-Henderson is now an assistant coach at Washington."

"I think a lot of my health problems were stress," said Bennett, who took a recruiting visit to the University of Hawaii last weekend and also is considering Arizona State,
Iowa State and Nebraska. "I was really stressed out during the season to the point that I got constant migraines. I couldn't sleep very much. I do feel there were points in the season where coach Jackson would say we were out of shape, but I felt that we were overworked. The main reason I'm leaving is just coaching."
