ISU's count in this case? IT DOES AND ALWAYS will when it comes to ANYONE outside of Iowa. Bottom line, you go to any other state in the U.S. and say Iowa and if they are football fan, my guess is 9 times out 10 they will say "hawkeye's" over "cyclone" why....tradition. simple as that. we can debate until our eye's go blind about who is better the last couple of years, you guy's have our NUMBER (no, not 665 or 667) but you guy's beat us, good job. but until you beat us year in and year out and take over that overall record, writers around the U.S. look at the overall record.

Iowa State is "currently" beating Iowa year in and year out. Those other schools you mentioned are using that tradition to succeed while Iowa is using their "tradition" to lose. That's the difference.
Any writer that compares two programs today based on football games that happened decades ago isn't doing a good job. You look at the most recent matchups to compare two teams.
