despite being home of our bitter rival, I have had a lot of good times in IC back when I lived in the midwest. I'm not going to be a myopic ISUer and hate the place b/c the U of I is there, it's really a decent town. I found it funny how so many people I knew while I was at
ISU (mid 90s) would go over to IC for the weekend to hit the bar scene and party. From the outside looking in, the state of Iowa is lucky to have two such great college towns for their state universities. If there's a rival town to pile on, go after Lincoln.
