Here are some photos of a bar I built at our previous home. I just stick built the famework using 1 x 4s ripped, glue, and screwed to form angled members. Then I put a surface on it using 3/4" partical board and concrete backer board and finally tiled on top of the concrete board. The tile was 79 cents a square and I only had to cut two pieces in half by using the small 3" tiles around the perimeter. The "walls" are just panels I built, stained, and poly'd prior that I attached to the framework like a facade. As you can see, I also had a sink area on a different level which made it a little more complicated. The only thing I wish I had done different is had more floor tiling so that the stools weren't on carpet. The tiling was only behind the bar but I should have done a large area of tile.
Also, I have lots more pictures that I took for my own purposes of documenting the design and step by step assembly. I like to do that so when I build the next revision, I can use what I liked and modify what I didn't like.
