I'm not sure about "
worlds of improvement", because much of defense is about lateral movement and quickness, let alone leaping, which Wes was severely restricted in. I think he'll be fine defensively next season. It probably won't hurt, either, if he's defending more forwards than guards.

It might also hurt if he has to pass on, say, any Big !2 all star overseas tours that he might otherwise have been invited on--but some of those are awfully late in the summer.

Indeed, if he's completely healthy, I have this suspicion that there will be at least
two '09 scholarships available. On the positive side, can't you just see both he and CB slashing in from the wings, and skying for rebounds?
