Before the season SOS don't mean much. We all know Iowa's schedule is and has been a joke these past few years and ISU's has been a top 20 schedule for the last couple. But hey when they go 7-5 with a January bowl game they are way better than us right? ........... Right?
No, the difference is not that big, and the numbers based on SOS as well as overall OOC records last year prove that. The Big 12 had only a slight advantage over the BT in OOC winning percentage.
We can argue this all day, but this will be my last response on the subject until the next thread lures me in. I'll concede that the B12 was slightly better than the BigTen. However, the difference was not all that great.
ISU beat Iowa, so there really is no debating the better team. We can debate, again, all day who was the better team at the end of the season, but let's face it - neither one really finished on a high note.
