The reason people start threads like this is because Iowa fans love to talk up the Iowa football program. They have no sense of reality. Some Iowa fans would still consider Iowa a top 30 football program. Iowa fans started talking about how great their PROGRAM over the 2 really solid years they have had. They demanded respect. Hawk fans began talking like they were one of the top 20 teams/programs in the country.
BUT they fell fast. They no longer want to be held to the standards of the 'top 20 program' status they were earlier saying they were. Now all they can do is defend how they aren't the worst. Apparently they dont want to be held to the high status they assumed they would be.
Now Iowa is getting bashed for losing to Western Michigan, Northwestern and
ISU. They are bashed for having a program filled with trouble makers and a coach who can't keep them disciplined. They are bashed for booing players on SR day.
We understand that Iowa State football is still a rebuilding project. We understand that we have had some good seasons for
ISU, but really very average in the eyes of 99% of all NCAA football fans.
Iowa fans never get the reality.
