What about guys like Champ Davis? He went to high school 30 miles away from Ames AND moved to Texas before his senior year of high school and Iowa still got him. It will be a difficult task, but I believe Coach Chizik has what it takes to get some of these guys to come to Ames and hopefully Coach Mac because of his E. Iowa connections.
Curious who did these walk-ons turn down to attend ui?
As far as AT goes that had as much to do with unknowns, the style of play and the coach at that time as anything.
Champ Davis there are better players that you could use as an example from the Dsm metro area but does ui get every recruit within 40 miles of ic?
What does not getting Davis have to do with recruiting an average prospect from Dubuque?
