Again, I hated Edmonds when he was with the Cardinals but I really see this as a low risk/low cost move that if it doesn't work then you lose nothing and you just cut him again. I don't understand the infatuation with Pie, he is so frustrating to watch at the plate. He's not ready to be an every day big league player and it does him no good to only get about a hand full of at bats a week right now. At least with Edmonds you know what you are getting right now, with Pie you are either going to get a 3 strikeout game or a possible big hit or homer but with him right now the strikeouts are more likely than him coming up with hits.
