If you don't like the remote and nunchuck there are ports to plug in gamecube controllers - going for $10 on ebay. Although, I played Madden a few times on a friend's Wii, and I found the remote and nunchuck to be VERY intuitive and preferable over a traditional controller. I assume the NCAA game will have similar controls for the Wii.
Instead of a gamecube controller you could also buy
Nintendo - Classic Controller for Nintendo Wii - RVLARW
Just make sure that the games you buy have the picture of the controller on the back or it won't be compatible.
