The problem for Iowa is that Kirk Ferentz suspended at least some of the players in question in mid-October for unknown reasons, saying they were "not in good standing". Then in a post-season press conference he said that he did not know anything about an alleged sexual assault until the news story broke in November or December.
If everything becomes public it will be clear that there was a cover-up (and it may still be going on -- after all, six rooms were searched and we don't know whose they are) and it would lead to the downfall of the $3 million dollar coach. We do not want that. Trust me, any coach who is 3-6 against
ISU needs to be retained for as long as possible.
